Day 08 (Base camp or snow line - the summit 3675 m)

Wake up early and enjoy the scenery of the snow land. Since your route today will be all over the snow passage you need to set off your trip as early as possible in order to get to the summit (3675 meters) by noon. It will take you 3-4 hours to the peak depending on the condition of weather and snow. Covered with frost, the alpine trees growing on the mountain range are so sensational that it’s worth taking memorial photos of the spectacular view of gorgeous mountains scenery. You may have some refreshment on the peak after spending a few minutes in photo, and walk down with the same passage to base camp to spend one more night at the same camp. Due to ecosystem being not impaired, you may, by chance, happen to see “Takins” (endemic wild animal) which inhabit near the snow line. (approx. walking hour 6)

Day 09 (Base camp to Thitpingyi 1850 m via Khadaungmyit camp)

After breakfast, as you trek down in the valley with twisting root path of up and down terrain, you need to be more careful in order to avoid your feet being twisted. There are some rest spots along the track where you either rest or pause for photos, and you will keep trekking down to Thitpinkyi camp via Khadaungmyit camp. That camp will be your last wilderness night of the trip. (approx. walking hours 6)

Day 10 (Thitpingyi to Ziyadum 1068 m via Chaungsone)

Enjoy melodious sounds of the nature in the morning and continue trek to Chaungsone with relatively descending track crossing a suspension bridge. You may like to spend a while by the rocky bank of the glacial creek, which abounds in endemic ice-fish. The lunch may be served there. The rest of your track will be marsh and a bit slippery until you reach another suspension bridge, from where you only need to spend an half hour to get to Ziyadum village. If you wish you can have shower and spend one night interacting with the local by the fire place in the middle of the meeting room of the local house. The indigenous people are characterized by sincere and carefree smiling faces. (approx. walking hours 6)

It will take you about 2 hours to reach Kalang, a beautiful Rawang village in rural setting. You will leave the village by the side for Awadum crossing a long suspension bridge of Kalang. You may take your lunch at a local house in Awadum which owns the only shop of the village and proceed to Wasandum to stay overnight. (approx. walking hours 6)

Day 12 (Wasandum- Mt Shangaung 1364 m- upper Shangaung- Putao 451 m)

After breakfast, you will start climbing up dramatically ascending path of Mt. Shaungaung for an half hour, and then the route becomes winding up with alternative low and high terrain up to the vicinity of the peak where the trail rises dramatically. As you may not feel like to rest on the summit, you keep on trekking down along the twisting trail to your lunch stop that’s plane and located by the stream. After saying farewell to some of your porters and cook, you will depart the village by jeep for Putao. On the way there will be some small bridges in bad condition where your driver will request you to get off the jeep for your safety. You could enjoy hot shower at the Putao lodge.
