Overview

Kyaiktiyo Pagoda is a well-known Buddhist pilgrimage site in Mon State, Burma. It is a small pagoda built on the top of a granite boulder covered with gold leaves pasted on by its male devotees. According to legend, the Golden Rock itself is precariously perched on a strand of the Buddha’s hair. Wikipedia

(Day 01) Arrive Yangon

On your morning flight arrival, your guide will welcome you at International Airport of Yangon (the biggest city and the capital of Myanmar until 2006) and your tour will start with the sightseeing of Sule Pagoda, the heart of ancient Yangon.
Walk around to experience the hustle and bustle of Yangon filled with colonial style buildings, China town area and the Indian quarter.
Visit Chaukhtatgyi Pagoda Image (Six-Storied Pagoda) followed by a photo stop at the Karaweik Hall (Royal Floating Barge).
Your afternoon visit will be shopping to Bogyoke (Scott’s Market) for your souvenirs from Myanmar.
Your evening will be at Shwedagon Pagoda, the world famous glittering gold stupa, will conclude the tour of this picturesque garden city, enjoy with many Myanmar people praying and making offerings at Shwedagon and you can remain until sunset.

Enjoy the breakfast at hotel.
Driving to Kyaikhtiyo (160 km) would be about 5 hours. Will stop at the base camp and to reach at Middle Camp, take an open truck (45 minutes) together with local people, and share the spirit of Myanmar pilgrims while the truck is snaking on the hill, running up and down on the way. It is a remarkable time for you with the shouts of happiness and excitement of the passengers. From the mountain top truck terminal, walk up to the mountain summit (about 15 min) and visit Kyaikhtiyo. As soon as you get to Golden Rock, all your fatigue is gone on seeing the Golden Rock closely.
In the late evening, Golden Rock is always crowded with many people of different regions from home and abroad. All the pilgrims are paying homage to Lord Buddha, saying the prayers, offering the candle-light, flowers and water, and incent sticks, doing meditation, taking a relax. You can personally see how much they are pious and how great their belief is!

(Day 03) Kyeikhtiyo – Bago - Yangon

In the morning, trek down (about 15 min) to truck terminal to queue for the truck. Climbing down with local people in the open truck for about 35 minutes to the base camp and proceed back to Yangon.
Resume the unfinished interesting visits in Bago for some time; Kyakatwainga thousand years old Shwe Maw Daw Pagoda; taller than the pagoda Shwedagon.
Shwethalyaung reclining Buddha Image, the world’s most beautiful Reclining Buddha, observe Mon Village nearby where you can discover local weaving. Visit the villages on the way to experience the pottery work, Kyaik Pun Pagoda; the four giant Buddha images. Visit Kanbawzatharyi Palace. On the way back to Yangon visit Htaukkyant Allied War Cemetery.

(Day 04) International departure from Yangon

After breakfast, you can choose your own leisure time or visit to Bogoke Aung San Market (Scott Market).
(Opening hours (9:00 am to 5:00 pm)/ Close on gazette holiday and every Monday)
Before two hours of your departure flight time, transfer to International Airport for your onward flight.
