Overview

Putao is the only snow land of southeast Asia and situated in the north part of Myanmar. Due to remoteness and being isolated region, the region becomes rich in flora and fauna, which create plenty of opportunities for the tourists to explore the region.

Day 01 (Yangon Arrival)

Just as you arrive at the Putao airport, your guide will greet and transfer you to Putao Guest house. After refreshment, your guide will take you to explore the scenic beauty of Putao, formally known as Fort Hertz and its ethnic groups’ living style by walking in and around the town. The town itself lies on small plane hill and is the most peaceful in northern Myanmar. Being isolated area, the region is rich in biodiversity-flora and fauna and it’s the least visited area by the tourist.

Day 03 (Namtunkhoo, Lisu Village)

After breakfast drive to Tonlihtu village to start trekking through some paddy field for about one hour. Then trek through dense subtropical forest with the dramatic ascending trail and you will reach the peak of 680 meters after 2 hours of trekking. From the peak the challenging descending trail will lead you to the paddy field of Namtunkhoo village. You will enjoy the scenic beauty of the village and the nature from the open paddy field, then walk to the village for about one hour. (approximate trekking hour:5)

Explore the large Lisu village (300 household) early in the morning by walking in and out the village. After breakfast you will keep on trekking the another beautiful trail leading to Mulashidi village. The first three hours of trekking you will trek through giant bamboo groves with up hill of Namtunkhoo Hill of 700 meters, after reaching the peak the terrain will be so gentle descending trail that you can have the spectacular view of the blazing snow-capped mountains, especially prominent Mt Luncrumadim (3500 meter) from some spots. When the trail ends up, the awaiting jeep will drive you to Mulashidi village. After exploring the village you will drive back to Putao. (approximate walking hour: 4)

Day 05 (Kaungmulon, Machanbot and Natkyun)

Drive the distance of 9 miles to Kaungmulon Pagoda, said to be one of 8400 Pagodas built by King Asoka of Sri Linka. Then cruise the motor boat down for about 45 minutes on the Malikha river to Machanbot township for exploring the market and stone dragon. You will have the lunch at the market and walk down to Malikha Suspension bridge to get to the motor boat for cruising down for 20 minutes to Natkyun ( fairy Island), very beautiful natural site. After enjoying the gorgeous scenery of the wonderful nature, you will cruise up to Naung Khaing village, from which you will drive back for one hour to Putao.

Day 06 (Putao departure and Arrive Myintkyina then change flight to Yangon)
